Designing for performance vs proving performance

Design intent is a model. Operational performance is a measurement. The gap between them is where questions arise.

Intent and operation

Design calculations and specifications set an expectation. Occupancy, controls, maintenance and real operating conditions influence what is eventually experienced.

Close the evidence gap

A verification plan defines what would demonstrate the intended outcome, when it should be measured and how the result should be interpreted.
